This example is typical of a stock 512BBi engine rebuild with the only deviation being slighly higher compression (10:1) forged pistons.

The CIS version of the Boxer engine has less camshaft duration and lift than the carbureted model. This reduces both horsepower and torque.

That being said, the 5.0 liter BB engine is still plenty powerful and smooth. This 512 BBi engine will provide many years of enjoyment for it's owner.

Type: Flat 12, DOHC 2v/cylinder

Bore: 82mm

Stroke: standard crank, 78mm

Compression ratio: 10:1

Cylinder heads: standard, new exhaust valves

Camshafts: standard

Induction: Bosch CIS fuel injection

Exhaust: standard Ferrari headers

Ignition: Ferrari electronic ignition
